Under-ordering is one of the most common and frustrating issues faced during cladding projects. It often leads to significant project delays, especially considering that our lead time is approximately 3 weeks. To help you calculate the number of boards needed for your project, we offer a handy board calculator that works out the material required based on the area being clad. The calculator also accounts for the shadow gap profile overlap of 15mm.

However, please note that the calculator does not include any wastage allowance, which is a crucial factor to consider. We recommend adding a minimum of 10% wastage allowance to cover cutting errors, offcuts, and unforeseen adjustments. Some installation configurations may require a much higher wastage allowance.

For example, if you are installing cladding with a single board configuration and your cladding height is 2.5 metres, but our boards are supplied in 3 metres, every board will leave 500mm of wastage. This must be carefully calculated when determining the required quantity, as it can substantially increase the amount of material needed.

Planning ahead and calculating correctly will help you avoid costly project delays and ensure a smoother installation process.
